Week of Mar. 25 to Mar. 29
Schedule for this Week: Tuesday's TT is open, so make an appointment! Wednesday is closed.
Third Quarter ended on Friday, March 15. Quarter grades were submitted last Wednesday. See me if you have questions about your grade.
Reminder: if a teacher makes a TT appointment for you, you are expected to attend that teacher's TT. If you have questions, or want to rearrange the appointment, talk with the teacher who made the appointment.
Remember that TT is an academic period -- you must bring some schoolwork to do during TT. If you don't have any work, bring a book to read. You should not plan to spend the time gaming or chatting with friends.
EL World History
Your book about WWII was due last Monday!
New Unit: The Russian Revolution and the Cold War.
We started with some notes about the growth of Russia, and Russian society before the revolution of 1917. There will be a quiz on this material this week!
Vocabulary -- you'll add new words to your vocabulary dictionary.
You'll complete a map of the huge Russian Empire.
We'll discuss the weakness of the Russian Empire before World War I, and the various groups of Russians who wanted change.
US History
If you missed the unit test on WWII or the SAQ on the atomic bomb, make an appointment for Trojan Time on Tuesday, or come to room 122 at lunch. I'm expecting all you work from the WWII unit to be completed BEFORE the Spring Break.
New Unit: The Cold War.

You'll compare points of view regarding the Marshall Plan -- General George Marshall (architect of the Plan) and A.V. Vyshinsky (Soviet diplomat).
We'll discuss a major early Cold War conflict -- The Korean War. You'll complete a map and answer questions about the different perspectives of President Truman and General MacArthur.
You'll complete a review sheet on early Cold War events, and take an open-note quiz (Cold War Begins and Cold War Deepens).
We will focus on the policy of containment, and how it impacted US foreign policy decisions.
