US History:
1. If you missed the review quiz on Monday, please see Mr. Rodriguez immediately to arrange a makeup.

World History:
1. Due at block: Review sheet on political terms. Also, you should read "Imperialism in Africa" and answer questions 1-9 on a separate sheet of paper.
2. Due Friday: Write a letter to King Leopold of Belgium about the situation in the Congo. You can choose to be a Belgian missionary who opposes Belgian actions in the Congo, or you can be a Belgian businessman who supports continued Belgian control of the rubber trade in the Congo. Your letter should be about 250 words in length, typed, double-spaced, 12 pt font, 1 inch margins.

APEH:
1. Keep working on your Chapter 16 Study Guide. We can't spend much time on this unit.

1. Students will participate in a health survey on Friday, Nov. 20.
2. On Monday after Thanksgiving, there will be a quiz on the posters and presentations on labor unions, Populists and immigration. You will have an opportunity to review the posters before taking the quiz.

World History:
1. Unit test on the Industrial Revolution is Friday. Be sure to bring your binder!

APEH:
1. Read Chapter 16 in McKay, and the Perry selections (Bossuet, St. Simon and Hobbes).
2. Your first essay outline is due on Friday, Dec. 4th.

1. Presentations of posters will take place on Thursday. All groups should be ready to present their posters and questions for the class.

World History:
1. We'll review for the unit test on the Industrial Revolution on Thursday and take the test on Friday.

APEH:
1. Unit test on Chapter 15 is on Thursday. Study Guides are due.
2. Be sure to make note of the reading assignment for the Thanksgiving break. We are a bit behind schedule, so we need to wrap this next unit up quickly.
3. Essay outline #1 is due on Dec. 4th. You may choose options 1, 2, 3 or 7. Follow the example on the back of the handout. These are all old AP Exam questions.

US History:
1. Poster presentations will all be done on Thursday! Be ready!

World History:
1. Due Thursday: Statements about industrialization. Evaluate each statement -- do you think it's a disadvantage of industrialism (mark it D), an advantage of industrialism (mark it A) or just a neutral fact (mark it Des).
2. We'll review on Thursday and take the unit test on Friday! Be sure to have your binder with you on Friday to hand in work.
3. Optional extra credit: Answer the question on the bottom of the review guide for the test, using complete sentences (you can write on the back of the sheet if you want). Choose 10 vocabulary terms from the top half of the sheet, and provide explanations of how these were significant ideas/events/inventions of the Industrial Revolution. Maximum credit is 10 points for really good answers.

APEH:
1. Retake the 1648 map test by Friday (maximum 20 points).
2. Montaigne notes are due at block.
3. Answer the questions on the Malebranche handout (you can do this on the back of the sheet if you want).
4. Unit test is Thursday.

2. If you want to retake the 1648 map quiz, please do so by Friday. No EC on the retake.
3. If you are still unclear about POV, please see me. It's vital that you be able to identify and discuss POV with respect to documents used as evidence in DBQs.

APEH:
1. Due at block: notes on Montaigne (typed, double-spaced, 12 point font, 1 inch margins). I will be looking for thoughtful responses that show that you understand the issues that Montaigne was confronting as Europeans expanded throughout the world.
2. We'll talk about witches, and then take the test on Chapter 15...we should be ready for the test before the end of next week.

First Quarter has ended. Grades will be posted on Monday, and turned in to the office on Tuesday morning. If you have any questions about your grade, see me or Mr. Rodriguez immediately.

US History:
1. Everyone should have written the Reconstruction essay, taken the Civil War test and handed in the Civil War binder packet at this time.
2. Due Thursday: Sections 1 and 2 of "Rise of Industrialism."
3. You need a new section in your binder for "Industrialization, Immigration and the Progressive Era."

World History:
1. No homework.
2. If you missed Friday's quiz on "Beginning of the Industrial Revolution in Britain," you should make arrangements to make it up immediately.

APEH:
1. Due Monday: POV comparision on the African slave trade. Focus on the things that create differences between these authors. POV means explaining why these writers seem to have such different perspectives on the slave trade. If you use a quote, it should be used only to back up your characterization of POV.

3. Timeline of English foreign policy from Henry VIII to Elizabeth I.
4. POV comparison on slave trade documents. Remember that for this assignment, you are just trying to identify and compare POV. Who are these guys and why do they think/write as they do?
