US History:
1. Due at block: Cornell notes on pages 30-35 (Three Worlds Meet).  We will take an "open-note" quiz on the material next week!

EL World History:
1. Study the vocabulary related to periods of time.  Next week's quiz will be very similar to the practice quiz you took on Friday!

APEH:
1. Hub Dates for first semester are due at block. We'll go over them together.
2. Map quiz coming!  Major rivers and oceans/seas.  Important mountain ranges. Big cities.  Countries and regions.

All binders and permission slips are due Friday, August 28th. See me if you would like assistance in obtaining a binder or other supplies.

US History:
1. Due Friday: paragraph (8-10 sentences) on a topic of social, political or economic significance. Choose a topic from the bottom of the worksheet.  Write a simple topic sentence for your paragraph, and then support your topic sentence with facts and examples.

APEH:
1. You should be working on Hub Dates for the first semester -- 1450 to 1815.
2. Don't forget that you may hand in a book review any time before the end of the 1st quarter. Check the summer homework instructions for a list of possible books to read/review.

Greetings and welcome to the 2015-2016 school year.

US History:
1. Due Friday: 3 ring binder and signed permission slip.  Be sure to let me know if you have any difficulty obtaining a binder or other class supplies.

EL World History:

APEH:
1. Due Friday: 3 ring binder and permission slip. Be sure to let me know if you have any difficulty obtaining a binder or other supplies.
2. Hub Dates. Three to four significant events for each date range on the front side of the "Hub Dates" sheet (first semester dates only).  Remember to look for events from various nations/regions; some events should have political significance, while others could be social, economic, intellectual, artistic or scientific.
3. We will have a map quiz soon. Remind me to discuss this with you in class on Friday.
4. How was the 14th century a transitional period? What social, political and economic factors seemed to be shifting, and how did European society change in response??
