Week of 12-6 to 12-10

Both Trojan Times are "open" this week. 

Bring your computer and charger to school every day!  If your chromebook is not working, take it to the office to get a functional replacement. 

Absences: if you are absent, it is your responsibility to check this weblog and Google Classroom for assignments. If you need assistance accessing assignments, email me for support. 

Classes:

EL World History:

Last Week: 

We reviewed the new ideas that arose during the Industrial Revolution. After the review, you took a quick quiz. 

We reviewed the the Industrial Revolution unit.

You took the unit test, and I checked your binder. 

This Week:

New Unit: World War I.  

We discussed the causes of World War I, including short-term causes and long-term causes. 

You started a set of textbook notes on the Causes of World War I. We'll finish this in class.

You'll get some new vocabulary for World War I.

A new video posted in Google Classroom. 


US History:

Last Week: 
You researched and wrote a short essay about the US decision to annex the Philippines. 

We briefly reviewed the events of World War I and you created a map showing the events of the war, and you'll watch a video on Wilson's 14 Points. 

You took notes on the end of the war and the Treaty of Versailles

We should be able to start on the Twenties before the final.  I assigned a textbook assignment called "Postwar Turmoil." You can find this in Google Classroom. 

This Week: The Twenties!
Watch the video on American Society in the Twenties. 

Finish the textbook assignment on "Postwar Turmoil."  There is a form for your answers in Google Classroom.   I'll stamp this at block and we'll go over it in class. 

New Video: The Great Migration and the Harlem Renaissance. 


AP Euro:
You can still register for the AP Euro exam, but it will cost a bit more.     

Last Week: 

AP Videos for this week were posted in GC. 

We'll review the Chapter 16 SG. 

We finished watching the wonderful presentations on the 18th century, and you took notes on your classmates' presentations.  I assigned some elements of the Chapter 17 SG. 

This Week: The French Revolution!
AP Videos for this week and next week are posted in GC, along with a couple of extra credit videos. 

The Chapter 19 SG is posted.  

I'll lecture on the FR. 

Tuesday: LEQ.  The topic is women.  Review what you've learned about women during this semester.  Review the various social attitudes toward women, and be prepared to discuss the experiences of women in Western society during the time period we covered since the start of the course.
