1. Read the excerpt from Pope's "Essay on Man."  Read Candide.  As you read, compare the two.
2. Read the first section of Chapter 18, and do SG questions 3, 5 and 7.

2. Find a used copy of Candide, or search for it online, and start reading.

1. If you missed the unit test and paragraph (Industrial Revolution) at block, see me to arrange a makeup.
2. If you didn't finish the textbook assignment in class at block, you'll have a little more time to work on it on Thursday.

EL World History:
1. On Thursday, you'll work on your writing assignment: "I Took a Walk in Manchester."
2. If you missed the vocabulary quiz at block, see me right away for a makeup.

APEH:
1. We'll finish the absolutism presentations on Thursday, and take the unit test on Friday.

1. We'll wrap up the absolutism presentations on Thursday.

World History:
1. You will write your paragraph on the Industrial Revolution at the beginning of the block period this week.  If you have questions about the paragraph, come in to see me before school on Tuesday or Wednesday, or at lunch.
2. The unit test will take place after you finish writing the paragraph.  You will also be handing in materials from your binder, so don't forget to bring it.


EL World History:
1. You should study the "New Ideas" worksheet, especially if you didn't do well on Monday's quiz.
2. You will be writing about the Industrial Revolution at block.

APEH:
1. The first section of your Study Guide for Chapter 16 is due at block.
2. Please finish reading and annotating Locke, and make notes in response to the questions.
3. You'll be preparing short presentations on absolutism with a partner (or two).
4. We'll finish this unit on Friday and take at test (Chapters 16 and 17).

1. You should have completed the "New Ideas" worksheet, and gotten a stamp on Thursday.  We'll continue to review it on Friday.
2. The unit test for the Industrial Revolution unit will take place at block period next week.

EL World History:
1. Everyone should have finished the chart on advantages and disadvantages of the Industrial Revolution.
2. If you didn't finish the "New Ideas" worksheet, finish it as homework, and have it ready for my stamp on Friday.

APEH:
1. The next section of your Study Guide is due at block period next week.
2. Both Bossuet and Hobbes supported absolute monarchy, but for different reasons. What was the difference between them with respect to the justification for absolutism?

1. At block on Wednesday, we will review vocabulary related to the Agricultural Revolution, and then take a quiz.

APEH:
1. Read the selection by Malebranche.  What is he trying to say?  How does he seem to be caught between the pre-modern and modern outlooks? 
2. We'll finish up the unit on Thursday and take the unit test on Friday.
