US History:
1. If you didn't finish the chart on Civil Rights Groups in class on Friday, please have it finished at the beginning of the period on Monday. This chart is important -- the Civil Rights movement will be one essay choice on the final exam. The other essay topic will be the significance of the New Deal.

World History:
1. Due Tuesday: Reading notes on "Three Issues that Divide the Palestinians and Israelis." Make sure you have good notes on this material, as it will be the subject of one of the essay choices on the final exam. The other topic will be causes of WWII.

APEH:
1. Maybe we will get to the end of Downfall...I know the Third Reich was supposed to last for a thousand years...but why does the movie have to last that long??

APEH:
Potluck is Friday.
If you have a good historical film, bring it in. It has to be really historical, not just Hollywood nonsense such as Braveheart.

1. Due Friday: "Middle East and Palestine."
2. You should be finished with the chart on "Events in the Formation of the Modern Middle East." We'll review it in class on Friday.
3. Who is the current leader of the Palestinian Authority? Who is the current Prime Minister of Israel? Why is the Israeli Prime Minister likely to lose his job at the next election (what is he being criticized for)?

APEH:
1. We'll discuss the AP exam on Friday, if everyone feels up to it.

World History:
1. If you didn't finish the notes on the "Overview of Oil in the Mideast" reading in class on Monday, please have it ready at the beginning of block period.
2. If you would like to do an "extra credit" current event on the Middle East, see me to make arrangements. Maximum extra credit is 10 points.

APEH:
1. If you did not bring your book on Monday, please return it directly to the library as soon as you possibly can. There are simply not enough books for next year's students without them. They'll have to check out the big fat ones...yuck.

World History:
1. If you didn't finish "The Ottoman Empire and its Fall" in class on Thursday, have it ready for a stamp on Friday at the beginning of class.

APEH:
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR BOOKS (BOTH MCKAY AND PERRY) TO CLASS ON FRIDAY. WE WILL HAVE A SHORT APPOINTMENT WITH THE BOOKROOM TO CHECK THEM IN ON MONDAY. NEXT YEAR'S STUDENTS CANNOT CHECK OUT BOOKS UNTIL YOU RETURN YOUR BOOKS (WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH!).

1. You should be ready to perform your song (or skit, or poem or whatever) at block.
2. If you're finished preparing your performance, you should work on "Response to the War in the US." Once we've seen all performances and reviewed this last assignment, we'll take the Vietnam test.
3. Please don't forget to bring in the permission slip for "Malcolm X." If you've lost your slip, have your parent or guardian write a brief note stating whether you may watch the movie, and sign it.

World History:
1. No homework. If you missed the China test, please make arrangements to make it up as soon as you return to class.
2. You need a divider for the last unit of the year on the Middle East.

2. Get ready for "Vietnam Era Music Festival!" Music, poetry, art, dance, drama...you can really express yourself! Find a partner or go it alone (3 people to a group is the maximum).

World History:
1. We'll continue with "The Mao Years" at block.
2. Review your timeline notes...it's always possible that there could be a quiz...

APEH:
1. Try making a list of the major themes we've covered this year...you know, like the development of the modern nation-state...what are some others?? Can't think of any? Try brainstorming with PERSIA.
