Happy Labor Day! Have a great weekend.

US History:
1. Due at block: Reading notes for pages 30-35 (Three Worlds Meet).
2. If you didn't get your binder approved on Friday, you have until Friday, Sept. 5th to bring it in to room 122 for a checkup. Please come during 1st period, at break or lunch, or after school.
3. I still want your permission slips...bring them in for 4 points next week.

World History:
1. You do not have homework.

1. I'll post map scores on Tuesday. I'm offering a retake on this test...please make arrangements to retake by Friday, Sept. 5th. I will record your highest score.
2. We will review first semester Hub Dates next week, and take a quiz on Friday.

APEH:
1. We'll review Hub Dates at block next week; you should have your Hub Date filled in with several events for each time period. Remember to vary the type and location of events.
2. Please return you permission slip if you have not already done so.
3. There will be a re-take offered on the map test. You should make an appointment with me to come in for the retake by Friday, September 5th. I'll post scores on Tuesday.

See Ms. Frasca in room 108 if you are interested in the Closeup trip to Washington! CV Closeup students will be in Washington DC during inauguration week, to see the new President of the USA sworn in. It will be very exciting!

The information meeting is Wednesday, September 3rd, at lunch in room 108.

US History:
1. Due at block next week: Reading notes for pages 30 -- 35 (Two Worlds Meet). Have your notes, in either outline or Cornell format, ready for me to stamp. We'll review the notes and take an open-note quiz -- open notes are only for those who have a stamp!
2. Don't forget your permission slip and binder for Friday. Permission slip is worth 5 points, and a correctly organized binder is worth 10 points.

World History:
1. Don't forget your permission slip and binder...both are due on Friday.

APEH:
1. First map test is Thursday.
2. Work on Hub Dates for first semester. Remember to vary the types of events you choose, and the regions of Europe from which they come.
3. You should have a 3 ring binder for APEH; please bring the binder to class each day. Either purchase a separate binder for completed Study Guides, or maintain a section in the back of your binder to store them.
4. What is the result when orthodoxy of religious belief (religous doctrine that cannot be questioned) is joined to the power of the state?

Welcome to the 2008 -- 2009 school year!

World History and US History Students:
1. Return your permission slips with parent/guardian signature by Friday for 5 points. Please let your parent/guardian know that I will be happy to speak with them by phone or email at any time regarding any issues related to our class.
2. Obtain a 3-ring binder and set it up according to the instructions on the course outline. Have your binder ready to show me on Friday -- easy 10 points.
3. You should have signed up for a date to do a current events presentation in class today. Please write down your date and remember to get a transparency and pen from me a few days in advance. Review the current event instructions carefully to make sure you get the full 20 points.

APEH:
1. We'll have a map quiz soon, possibly on Thursday (since so many of you will be gone on Friday).
2. Please return your permission slip by Friday.
