2. Due on Friday: Writing assignment based on the slides we've been viewing in class.
Evaluate the validity of the following statement: What's good for business is good for America. Begin with a topic sentence that strongly asserts your opinion, but remember that there will be some evidence on both sides. Refute the opposing position in a sentence or two, then give the arguments in support of your assertion.
(As always: about 250-300 words, typed, double-spaced, 12pt font, one-inch margins.)
3. Straighten up your notebook if necessary...there will be a notebook check soon.

World Civ:
1. Finish the worksheet entitled "Patterns of Thought." Be sure to answer all the questions. Use a separate sheet of paper if necessary.

I will turn in the first quarter grades to the office on Tuesday morning at 9:00. I'm assuming that all issues have been resolved. Grades will be mailed on Thursday.

US History:
1. Finish your Civil War poster, if you didn't finish it in class.
2. Do the review crossword puzzle.
3. Come to class prepared to take the scantron test and write the essay! You may use the pink sheet with your thesis statement and topic sentences on it and your T-chart on Reconstruction as you are writing.
4. Remember to bring your notebook; I will collect a packet.

World Civ:
1. We'll be in the computer lab during the block period. Come to class first so I can take attendance.
2. We should be ready for a test on the Industrial Revolution by the end of next week (before the Thanksgiving holiday).

APEH:
1. Keep up with your reading and Study Guide.
2. Both the Huguenot Wars and the Thirty Years' War were civil wars that combined both religious and political motivations and consequences. How would you compare/contrast the two?

1. Look up material for your poster. Be creative...the posters are supposed to be a Civil War review, but they're also supposed to be funny.
2. If you are feeling uncertain about the essay, please see me on Monday for advice. Bring your notes (T-chart) and your outline (the pink half-sheet) and we'll work on your thesis statement and topic sentences!

World Civ:
1. Create 5 quiz questions to give to a fellow student. No trick questions! Create questions that really test whether the person taking your quiz knows the content of the reading.

APEH:
1. Be sure to take reading notes on the Thirty Years' War, so we can cover it speedily.
2. Work on the "globalization" handout/questions.
3. Keep up with your Study Guide for this chapter...don't leave it until the night before the test!

US History:
1. Check through your US History text to locate the information related to the topic you chose for your poster. If you have magazines at home with splashy ads and pictures (People, E, Rolling Stone, National Geographic, Cosmopolitan, etc.) please bring them in if your parents don't object. They are good sources of illustrations for our "Creative Anachronism" posters.
2. Our Civil War test will take place at block period next week.

World Civ.
1. No homework.
2. Please pick up your car if you want it!

APEH:
1. Finish McKay Chapter 15 and work on your Study Guide.
2. I should have the English foreign policy timeline by Friday...keep it simple...everyone is making way too big a deal out of it.
3. We'll start reviewing the Thirty Years' War next week. You should have your own reading notes on this.
4. Read the handout on globalization and answer the questions I gave you in class.
