Week of May 22 to May 26

Important Information for All Students: 

Schedule:  Both TTs are open.  Make appointments for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Monday, May 22nd: Farewell Assembly

Wednesday, May 24th: Locker Cleanout

Thursday: May 25th: Senior Awards Night

Monday, May 29th is Memorial Day! No school. 

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 30th to June 1st: Final Exams.

Friday, June 2nd: half-day of classes; graduation in the evening. 

Class Expectations: Please come to class on time every day, with your computer, binder, paper and pen/pencil.  Your computer should be charged, or you should have your charger with you. (Most teachers do NOT have "extra" chargers.) Please turn your phone off and put it away at the beginning of the period. 

Many assignments will be posted in Google Classroom, but others will be distributed in class.  If you are absent, email me to see whether I have a GC version of work that you missed.  Check Aeries for your current grade. Aeries is the official gradebook. 

If you have an excused absence, see me to get your work stamped and arrange any needed makeups when you return to school.

Civil Rights Groups: You received a packet of readings on various groups of Americans who struggled for equal civil rights in America.  Use the chart to record details about these groups.

EC Edpuzzle: Pioneers of Rock and Roll. 

This Week:

Notes: The Reagan Years. 

On Wednesday (block period), you will complete a final writing assignment during class.  The topic will be the Civil Rights Movement -- either Martin Luther King, Jr., and Malcolm X, or the efforts of other groups (non-African-Americans) to gain equal rights. 

Thursday and Friday -- Movie time?  

Final Exam: Check the CVHS website for final exam schedules. 

You may bring a 3x5 card to the exam (both sides, handwritten). 

You MUST bring your binder to the final exam for a final binder check. 

Note on Edpuzzle videos: As I have mentioned in class, I'm deleting the links for Edpuzzle videos after 2-3 weeks.  The videos are intended as reinforcement of material currently being covered in class. You should plan to complete the videos during the time that we are covering the relevant subject matter in class.

Please return your textbooks to the bookroom as soon as possible.  You can leave them in room 122 if you want, but make sure your name is written in the front of the book.

You completed a "Walking Timeline" project.  You created a poster that describes and illustrates an important event in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. 

Posters were displayed around the room, and everyone took notes on the posters. 

When you finished your notes, you watched an Edpuzzle video on the 1960s in America.

This Week:
