Covid Precautions:  I will be enforcing mask-wearing and social distancing in the classroom!  I will also open the door & windows for ventilation, and the air purifier will be running.  Bring a sweater/jacket/sweatshirt, so that you can bundle up if necessary!

Last Week:

You completed review sheets to prepare for the unit test on World War I. 

The unit test for World War I took place on Tuesday. 

On Thursday, you watched a presentation about the ROP program. 

On Friday, we started our coverage of World War II. 

This Week:

You'll read about the "Interwar" period -- the time between World War I and World War II. Why was it called the "Age of Anxiety?"

You'll take notes and answer questions on the Interwar period, and the rise of dictatorships. 

You will add some new (and some review) words to your vocabulary notebook. 



US History:

Last Week:
We began our coverage of FDR's New Deal.

You took notes on some overview slides, and wrote an analysis of the political cartoon "Fast Worker." 

Due Thursday: Textbook Questions/Answers on "The Impact of the New Deal." The textbook section is posted in GC. 

Edpuzzle Video: The New Deal

You completed a chart summarizing some of FDR's "alphabet soup" programs for Relief, Reform and Recovery.   Using this chart, and other sources, you started working on a brochure about a New Deal program. 

This Week: 
You'll finish your brochure, and complete a crossword puzzle review of the Great Depression and the New Deal. 

The test for this unit will take place at block period. 

We'll move on to our coverage of World War II on the Home Front!

AP Euro:
If  you are planning to take the AP Exam, you should be reviewing now. 

Last Week:

You started working on the Chapter 21 SG.  

AP vids were posted, along with a couple of Edpuzzle videos. 

Lecture: The Revolutions of 1830 & 1848, and Louis Napoleon Bonaparte.  Nationalism, Liberalism, Conservatism.

We reviewed the factors that influenced the US decision to enter World War I on the side of the Allied Powers. 

We discussed the end of the war and the Treaty of Versailles. 

This Week:

On Monday, you will be completing several review sheets to prepare for the unit test on World War I. 

The test will take place on Tuesday. 

On Thursday, you will be watching a presentation about the ROP program. 

On Friday, we'll start our coverage of World War II.

You finished the chart comparing and contrasting the war on the Eastern and Western Fronts.  

The Daily News: We covered the entry of the US into World War I. 

You wrote a rough draft of a paragraph comparing the Western and Eastern Fronts, and then typed and submitted a final draft of your paragraph. 

This Week: 

We'll review the factors that influenced the US decision to enter World War I on the side of the Allied Powers.

Textbook Notes: The Crash and Its Aftermath.  The textbook section is posted in GC.  I handed out a form for notes, but if you decide to do the notes in GC, you will need to print them out for your binder.  The first part of the notes was due on Friday. 

The Stock Market: What is it and how does it work?  Class activity. 

This Week:

Important Information for All Students:

There are no block periods and no Trojan Times this week.  

Tuesday and Wednesday are "modified" regular schedule days -- in other words, you have all periods, and you are released at 2:30. 

I will submit grades to the office on Tuesday, January 4th.  See me immediately if you have questions about your grade.

Please take care of your chrome book and charger!  Try not to drop/squash your computer.  Charge it up at night so that you don't have to over-use the charger.  

If your chrome book is not working, take it to the office to get a functional replacement.

We discussed the causes of World War I, including short-term causes and long-term causes. 

You completed a set of textbook notes on the Causes of World War I. We'll finish this in class.

You added two new pages to your vocabulary notebook.

You studied a map of World War I alliances. You answered questions about the map, and you filled in a chart showing the nations of Europe at war. 

You started a set of textbook notes on "Four Years of War." 

This Week:
