Current Events! Don't forget your date for a current event presentation. We have few people who will be giving presentations the week after Labor Day. Be sure to get a transparency and pen from me in plenty of time to make your overhead notes.

US History:
1. If you didn't get your binder approved, you have until Friday, Sept. 7th to see me (at break or lunch) to show me a correct binder! You can still get full points until Friday. After that, I will make you an appointment after school to come in and get your binder in order...half points.
2. Your assertion paragraph on one of the US History Discussion Questions is due at block period -- 250-300 words -- typed, double spaced, 12 pt font, 1" margins.

World History:

APEH:
1. You should have a good collection of hub dates for first semester (1450 - 1815).
2. I'll get the map tests scored, and you can decide whether you need to retake it. You must keep working at your map skills until you have a working familiarity with the map of Europe.
3. I will still accept extra credit book reports for the next two weeks.
4. Think of as many ways as possible in which the Hundred Years' War changed the political and economic landscape of England and France. This is a "change over time" (COT) question -- you must get a clear idea of what things were like before the war and then compare this picture to the situation after the war.

World History and US History Students:
1. Have someone at home read the Course Outline and fill in their name and email address on the white form.
2. Remind your parent/guardian to leave the square blank if they don't object to the use of current news articles and cartoons in class (today's cartoons about "back to school" are examples).
3. Get a three-ring binder and set it up according to the instructions on the Course Outline. This is due on Friday, along with the permission slip.
4. We're getting books on Wednesday! Bring your ID.

APEH:
1. Map test on Friday...you should know bodies of water, major mountain ranges, major cities and names of countries/regions.

3. If you will not be going to the senior picnic (or if you are a junior), you will be in Mr. Whitaker's room (120, I think) on Thursday during 4th period. Bring your textbook so you can work on hub dates and study for the map test.
