US History
1. We watched "Malcolm X."
2. Finals: 3rd period final exam is Tuesday, June 10 at 8:10; 4th period final exam is Tuesday, June 10 at 10:20.
3. Bring your textbook and notebook to the final...and a pencil!

World Civilizations
1. We discussed the essay.
2. Finals: 5th period final exam is Wednesday, June 11 at 8:10; 6th period final exam is Wednesday at 10:20; 7th period final exam is Thursday, June 12 at 8:10.
3. Bring your textbook, notebook and a pencil to the final. Extra credit is also due at the time you take the exam.

US History
1. I handed back the quiz on Kennedy and Johnson, and we discussed it.
2. We watched more of "Malcolm X."

World Civilizations
1. Students took a short open-note quiz on Deng Xiaoping and the Tiananmen Square Massacre.
2. We completed two more review sheets to prepare for the final.

Block Periods: Tuesday, June 3 and Wednesday, June 4

US History
1. We started watching the movie "Malcolm X."
2. We took a break to discuss the Black Panthers.

World Civilizations
1. We reviewed the assignment on Deng and Tiananmen Square. We'll take an open-note quiz on this assignment on Thursday.
2. I handed out a couple of review sheets for the final exam. Students worked on these in class.
3. We watched a few more minutes of the video on Mao's rule in China.

US History
1. I handed out the review sheet for the final exam, as well as copies of the essay questions that will appear on the final.
2. We reviewed the Venn diagram comparing Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X.
3. Students took notes on the civil rights struggles of some other American social groups, such as gays, women, Chicanos, etc.

World Civilizations
1. I handed out the review sheet for the final exam. Extra credit is available for students who answer the questions on the review sheet.
2. Students received the last homework assignment for the year -- a reading on Deng Xiao Ping and Tiananmen Square, with questions. These are due at the block period.
3. We continued watching the video on Mao's rule in China.
