Week of Oct. 30 to Nov. 3
Information for All Students:
Schedule for this week: There are no block periods and no Trojan Times this week. Monday and Tuesday are regular days (all periods). You do not have school on Wednesday, November 1st. Thursday and Friday are regular days. Dismissal times are the same all week: 3:35 pm.
If you need to do any makeups, come in at lunch since there's no TT.
Remember that TT is an academic period -- you must bring some schoolwork to do during TT. If you don't have any work, bring a book to read. You should not plan to spend the time gaming or chatting with friends.
Halloween Costume Contest -- in the courtyard at lunch on Tuesday. If you dress as a historical person, I will give you 5 points extra credit.
EL World History
We'll sketch the transition from pre-industrial to industrialized society.
We'll move on to Industrialization and the "Second" Industrial Revolution.
You'll take a vocabulary quiz.
You'll draw a "social class pyramid."
We'll begin to discuss the problems that arose during the Industrial Revolution, and how people tried to deal with the problems.

US History
If you missed last Friday's quiz on the "Rise of Industrialism," see me immediately to arrange a makeup.
Your textbook notes on "Populism and Protest" are due on Tuesday.
We'll move on to the section of the unit focusing on the "New Immigration." You'll take some slide notes, and we'll discuss the concepts of acculturation and assimilation.
If we have time, we'll analyze some political cartoons on Americans' attitudes toward immigration during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
