Friday, October 16, 2015

US History:
1. Due at block:  Outline of the reading on the Dred Scott case. Use the paragraph headings in the reading to organize your outline. Remember that your notes have a purpose -- to understand the Constitutional issues presented in the case. Don't bother with random (even if interesting) information.

EL World History:
1. Finish your drawing for the Three Estates.

APEH:
1. Next two SG questions and next 5 IDs.  If you didn't get a stamp for Friday's work, I'll stamp it on Friday, since I didn't blog on Thursday night (oops).  At least I found out that people are reading the blog.
2. We'll have work time in class next week to finish the IDs and other stuff.
3. Remember to think about the Reformation in terms of the total situation, which included social, political and economic change.  Also, keep in mind that doctrinal differences cannot be thought of as corruption.

APEH:
1. Next section of the SG is due on Thursday.  Don't forget to do 5 more IDs.
2. Rather than trying to think of "causes" of the Protestant Reformation, ask yourself about the total context of this period in Western history.  What aspects of society (social, political and economic) were changing?  How might these changes encourage people to break away from the Church, or to challenge traditional ideas? What motives might people have other than spiritual belief?
3. Map quiz at block!  1555 -- the year before Charles V stepped down and divided the Empire.
