US History:
1.  Due at block; Washington and the Government (reading guide).  Use complete sentences -- do not copy the questions.  It should be obvious from your well-constructed answer what question you are answering.
2. You will have some additional time in class to work on the map.

EL World History:
1. If you didn't write sentences for your vocabulary words in class, write them as homework.

APEH:
1. First section of the SG for Chapter 14 is due at block.
2. Read the handouts.  Make notes on the characteristics of Lutheranism, Calvinism, and the Roman Catholic Church.

1. Friday: Short Answer (Paragraph) Test.  Carefully read the prep sheet for these questions.  Review your binder, highlighting and underlining facts, examples, famous people, ideas, etc. that relate to each question.  Make a bullet-point outline for each question, so that you are prepared to answer all of them. On Friday, I will choose two for you to write about.

EL World History:
No homework.

APEH:
1. MC test on Friday.  Be ready to hand in your Study Guide material.

US History:
1. On Thursday, you'll be taking a fill-in test on the Colonies to Constitution unit.  You should review the vocabulary list that was give out at the beginning of the unit.
2. Carefully read the prep materials for the short-answer questions.  Go through your binder with a pen or highlighter, and locate/review the sections that are related to the questions.  You will be writing on two of the prompts -- my choice.

EL World History:
1. Unit test on Rise of Democracy is Thursday (types of government and philosophers).

APEH:
1. You should be ready to hand in your Machiavelli/More answers on Thursday.  Be sure to answer the last question (comparing the two).
2. Finish reading Chapter 13; do the assigned Study Guide questions and IDs.  Do the fill-ins; provide bullet points for the New Monarchs.
3. We should be ready for a multiple choice test on Friday.

US History:
1. Due at block: Answers to close reading questions on the excerpt by Alexander Hamilton. Remember, do not use quotes from the text; use your own words to express your understanding of Hamilton's meaning.   Typed, double-spaced, 12 pt. font, one inch margins.

EL World History:
1. You should know all the types of government and the philosophers we have studied in this unit.  We'll take a test on Thursday.

APEH:
1. You should be finishing up Chapter 13.  Do the assigned Study Guide questions and IDs.  Do the fill-ins.  Summarize the New Monarchs...your notes should help you here.  Make mental note of how the New Monarchs fit with the ideas expressed by Machiavelli.
2. We should be ready for a test by Friday.  We'll have a multiple choice test and probably some short-answer questions.

1. Due at block: answers to questions about Alexander Hamilton's letter criticizing the Articles of Confederation.  Typed, double-spaced, 12 pt. font, one inch margins.
2. We'll wrap up this unit at block.  Be ready for a unit test on Thursday or Friday.

6th period EL World History:
1. You will be writing about a philosopher.
2.  Be ready for a unit test on Thursday.

5th period EL World History:
1. Be ready to present your Venn diagrams to the class at block.
2. Unit test on Thursday.

APEH:
1. Be ready to discuss Machiavelli and More in small groups.  How do they characterize the Italian and Northern Renaissance?
2. You should be finished reading Chapter 13, and working your way through the SG questions and IDs.  Do the fill-ins and summarize the New Monarchs -- just bullet points explaining how each fits the model of a New Monarch (list particular actions or policies that helped them to concentrate sovereignty in their respective governments).
3. Hub Dates retake by Wednesday.

1. Your answers to the questions on the Alexander Hamilton reading (Articles of Confederation) are due at block on Wednesday.  Your answers should be thoughtful and complete.  Please always use complete sentences.  Typed, double-spaced, 12 pt. font, one inch margins.
2. We should be ready for a unit test by Friday.  The test will include a written portion that will require short paragraph answers.
3. On the day of the test, you will be handing in a packet of work from your binder. Be sure all your work is in order, so that you will be able to hand in all required assignments.

EL World History:
1. You will be taking a test on philosophers and types of government soon.

APEH:
1. You should be working your way through Chapter 13 and the accompanying Study Guide questions and IDs.  Do the fill-ins.  For the "new monarchs," provide bullet points showing why each monarch can be considered a new monarch.
2. You will have time in class for small group discussions of the Machiavelli and More selections.  Please read the assigned selections before block period on Tuesday.
3.  If you plan to re-take the Hub Dates quiz, the deadline is Wednesday.

2. Read the next section of McKay; there is just one ID (Lorenzo Valla).  Please read the textbook closely.  You are accountable for everything in the book.  Use the textbook site to help you review.
3. Read the bio on Machiavelli.  Start reading the assigned sections of The Prince and Utopia.  You can look ahead at the questions, but you will have an opportunity to discuss them in small groups before the assignment is due.

1. If you didn't finish writing sentences for the new vocabulary words, do this as homework. Be sure to bring your vocabulary notebook to class.

2.  Hub Dates!  Let's do this on Thursday.  You will write the dates down the margin of your paper (there are 11 of them) and then provide a significant event for each date.  
3. Don't forget that you may complete the extra credit book review any time in the first quarter.
