World History:

APEH:
1. Map Quiz #1 Friday -- Modern Europe.
2. We'll review Hub Dates for first semester on Friday.
3. What were some essential cultural and political characteristics of "medieval" Europe? Think of Freeman (The Closing of the Western Mind) and our brief discussion of the "fall" of Rome. What was/is "the West?"

World History and US History:
1. Your signed permission slip and your 3-ring binder are due on Friday, Sept. 2nd.
2. In class on Tuesday, we discussed and wrote about a political cartoon on the famine in Somalia. This should be placed in your binder (in the writing section).
3. We'll review the "Categories" chart on Wednesday.

APEH:
1. Map Quiz #1 on Friday: Modern Europe.
2. Use your textbook and other sources (Internet is OK) to find significant events to enter on your Hub Dates sheet. Remember that you want events/trends of different types, from different regions.

Hey, everyone! Welcome back to school! Check the list below to find your class. Don't forget to have your ID with you for the next couple of weeks -- you will need it to get a book.

US History:
1. Due Friday: Three-ring binder and permission slip.

World History:
1. Due Friday: Three-ring binder and permission slip.

APEH:
1. Quiz Friday: Modern Europe. Includes nations/regions, a few mountain ranges (Alps, Carpathians, Pyrennees), bodies of water (oceans, seas, major rivers) and major cities, including Paris, London, Rome, Berlin, Moscow, Jerusalem, Constantinople, etc.
2. Friday: Let's go over Hub Dates for the first semester -- just 1450 tnrough 1815. Remember to vary the types of events (intellectual, diplomatic, artistic, religious, political, etc) and the countries or regions. Don't use stuff you already know. Try to find things that will help you remember what was going on during a particular era.
